Spearhead Africa Infrastructure Fund

Spearhead Africa Infrastructure Fund (SAIF) is the first infrastructure fund to be domiciled in Kenya and approved by the Capital Markets Authority.

Investment objective

SAIF operates as a collective investment scheme, offering unitholders regular and stable income by investing in a diversified portfolio of private-sector infrastructure projects and businesses across Kenya and East Africa. The fund focuses on opportunities that: (i) deliver essential economic and social services, (ii) generate long-term, contractual cash flows through contracts with credible customers or offtakers, and (iii) are backed by assets with long useful lives.

SAIF invests in opportunities that offer high degree of certainty about the future cash flows to be received by investors, while preserving the capital value of their investments. The net income generated by SAIF will be distributed to investors on a quarterly basis.

Structure

SAIF is a unit trust, registered with and regulated by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA). It is managed by Spearhead Africa Asset Management Limited (SAAM), which is also duly licensed and regulated by the CMA to provide asset management services in Kenya.

Listing

Upon issue, SAIF’s units will be listed and freely tradable on Nairobi Securities Exchange’s Unquoted Securities Platform.
